Detectives seek leads in Lancaster shooting that left girl, 14, dead and 6 others wounded

Lancaster Shooting A 14-year-old girl who was slain when at least one gunman opened fire at a crowded house party in Lancaster was identified Monday as Dominique Peatry, authorities said.

Multiple shots were fired at the party in the 44600 block of 6th Street east during the 1 a.m. attack that left six others wounded, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The injured victims range in age from 13 to 26 years old, authorities said.

At least 40 homicides have been reported in Lancaster since January 2007, according to a database compiled by The Times' Homicide Report.

On Monday, detectives were in Lancaster working the case as they attempted to identify suspects and develop other leads, authorities said. No arrests had been announced.
