September 16, 2010 |  6:26 am

Big rig crash on 101 A fiery big-rig crash shut down all northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles early Thursday morning.

The driver of the rig said he was in the far right lane early Thursday when someone cut him off. He swerved to avoid a collision, and the truck's diesel tanks struck the center divider, causing a fire, he said.

As of the early morning, all lanes had been shut down just past the 110 Freeway while fire crews worked to put out the flames.

The southbound lanes also were closed but were reopened shortly before 5 a.m.
