Zsa Zsa Gabor asks for last rites in hospital

A priest administered last rites for Zsa Zsa Gabor, 93, at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Sunday morning, her longtime publicist, John Blanchette, said.

Gabor broke her hip July 17 at her Bel-Air home while getting into a wheelchair that was not locked in place, Blanchette said. She underwent hip replacement and was released from the hospital on Wednesday. On Thursday she had chest pains and was rushed to the emergency room. Doctors found and removed two clots, including one close to her heart, the publicist said.

Her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, was at her bedside, and she was talking through Saturday--their 20th wedding anniversary.

Her condition worsened Sunday morning

“She asked for the priest this morning,” Blanchette said. “The priest came in and gave last rites.” She had not talked after that and was being fed through a tube, he said.

Doctors planned to try to get her to eat without the tube Monday, he said. “That’s the only hope,” he said. Zsa Zsa Gabor is the last of the three glamorous Gabor sisters, including Eva and Magda, all of whom, like their mother, died after breaking bones. “They all kept their mind until the end,” Blanchette said. “It was their bodies to fail first.”

Banking over sixty years in entertainment business; Zsa Zsa will most assuredly be missed.

Stars like this broad only come around so often...oh those damn tears.

I think it sadly became evident a month ago when she first fell, she wasn't going to recover.

Zsa Zsa Gabor, you have been blessed by God to live such a long life - I had no idea you were in your 90's. I will always think of you as adorable and in Green Acres - your life will be remembered because of the public eye. My grandmother would have been around your age now and you both have that love and charm about you. The green acres song will always be with me - I wish you nothing but peace and love!

This is sad.

God be with you Zsa Zsa.

I have had the pleasure of knowing two of the sisters.
My thoughts go to The Gabor family.

Terri, I hate to break it to you... Eva Gabor was in Green Acres.

God Bless Zsa Zsa. We all see her husband daily for coffee, usually hanging out and watching the crowds while smoking his cigar. He must be going through a tough time now, privately. Their marriage will be her last and most loved.

Hmm.

I guess you could say she was in the "entertainment" business.
