Car suspected of fleeing San Clemente gang shooting rolls over on 5 Freeway

A car suspected of fleeing a possible gang shooting in San Clemente rolled over Tuesday night on the 5 Freeway, authorities said.

The Honda Civic was carrying at least two males, one of whom had been shot in the abdomen, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.

The rollover occurred about 7:30 p.m. at the northbound Crown Valley exit, near the Mission Viejo Hospital, said Sgt. Jeff Foster. The victim was in stable condition and was undergoing surgery, he said.

Investigators were at the scene. No other details were available.
