Missing 13-year-old Sylmar girl found by LAPD

A 13-year-old girl missing since Saturday after attending a birthday party in Mission Hills was found Wednesday night by Los Angeles police, authorities said.

Karina Valencia was found in the passenger seat of a car in Sylmar near Glenoaks Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Picture 1A 20-year-old man was driving the car.

Officers searching the area saw a female passenger in the vehicle quickly duck when she noticed them, the LAPD said. The officers stopped the car and determined that the girl was Karina.

She appeared to be well and will be reunited with her family, according to the LAPD.

Police said it was unclear whether the driver of the vehicle will be charged with a crime. The investigation is ongoing.

Great job, LAPD!

Good police work!
Hope the 20 year old gets a good long stint in jail!

I hope this girl gets some help. She has issues. She was trying to connect with older men thru Facebook. She will do it again if she doesn't get help.
