Marine from Camp Pendleton killed in Afghanistan

A Marine from Camp Pendleton was killed Thursday in Afghanistan, the Pentagon announced Friday.

Cpl. Christopher Boyd, 22, of Palatine, Ill., was killed while on a combat mission in southern Afghanistan's Helmand Province. Boyd was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Regiment of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force.
