Guest at wedding reception fatally shot during argument

A Sun Valley wedding reception turned deadly early Sunday after an argument led to the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man, authorities said.

Jose Arroyo-Martinez of Canoga Park was outside Michael’s Banquet Hall in the 8400 block of Lankershim Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. when he and another guest at the reception began arguing, according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Rudy Alaniz and a Los Angeles County coroner's investigator.

Arroyo-Martinez was shot in the abdomen, Alaniz said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled in a vehicle but crashed on the 5 Freeway near the Penrose Street exit, where he was detained by California Highway Patrol officers and handed over to Los Angeles police. His name and age were not given.

I always remember to bring my gun to wedding receptions.

The suspect and victim were overheard fighting over the last vegetarian dish.

This is not funny the kid was only 20 years old not a gang member and he didn't deserve this he was already leaving when the other guys just decided to shoot into the crawd that was leaving no reason for this what so ever may he rest in peace my prayers go out to the arroyo family
