Small brush fire in La Cañada Flintridge [Updated]

July 20, 2010 | 12:43 pm

Los Angeles County firefighters were responding Tuesday to a small brush fire in La Cañada Flintridge, officials said.

The 11:38 a.m. fire broke out on a half-acre in the 400 block of Gleneagles Place, said Inspector Don Kunitomi. No structures were threatened, he said, and the cause of the fire was undetermined.

“It sounds like they’re getting a hold of it,” Kunitomi said.

[Updated at 2:37 p.m.: The brush fire has been knocked down, Kunitomi said. “It means they have stopped the progress of the fire,” he said. “It’s not out, but it’s the first major step to putting it out.”]
