Boy, 7, shot at Norwalk park after fight between possible gang members

A 7-year-old boy at a Norwalk park was shot in the torso Wednesday night after a fight broke out between possible gang members, authorities said.

Three people across the street from the park began fighting, and shots were fired. One of the bullets hit the boy, said Lt. Bill Evans of the Norwalk sheriff's station.

The boy was taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to Evans, and was undergoing surgery Wednesday night.

The shooting broke out around 7:40 p.m. Gang investigators were at the park gathering evidence. No arrests had been made.
