Michael Jackson's tomb in Glendale vandalized

July 13, 2010 | 10:48 am

Michaeljackson Michaeljackson Officials at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale say there has been some minor damage to Michael Jackson’s mausoleum by vandals, but they are not worried about security.

Messages were scrawled on the wall of the mausoleum in black marker, said William Martin, communications manager at Forest Lawn. He was not sure when the vandalism occurred, but he said crews were working Tuesday morning to clean it up.

No police report was filed, he said.

Photographs posted on the celebrity website TMZ.com showed the messages, including “Miss you sweet angel!” and “Keep the dream alive.”

Jackson is one of many celebrities buried at the cemetery. A major security presence was employed last month for the one-year anniversary of Jackson’s death. Sgt. Tom Lorenz of the Glendale Police Department said there were no problems that day.

“They have a superior security detail in place there,” Lorenz said. “We have heightened awareness, but we’re not concerned.”
