1 dead, 5 hurt in three-car crash in Pasadena
One man was killed and five others injured in a three-car collision in Pasadena, police
said.
The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. near Sierra Madre and Orange Grove boulevards. One of the vehicles ran a red light, said Lt. Rodney D. Wallace of the Pasadena Police Department.
The dead man was described as an elderly man. His name was not released. One of the injured victims was in serious condition and the other four had less serious injuries, police said.
Wallace said the accident was under investigation. No other details were available.

I drive through that intersection every day and would never expect a fatal accident to occur there. Very tragic.

Prayers to the deceased and his friends and family. I'd like to know a bit more about the at-fault driver. Driver's license? Insurance? Under the influence? I know The Times won't be inclined to ask or report on my simple request but it never hurts to ask. Or does it?

We were there and I went to help, but by the time we realized there was a third car, a RAV about 100 feet down the road wrapped around a pole, the fire department was arriving. Very sad.
