L.A. firefighters battle brush fire in Lincoln Heights [Updated]
Water-dropping helicopters were attacking the blaze from the air as ground crews were surrounding the fire. About four acres of brush had burned, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The blaze broke out shortly before 10 p.m. The fire was burning uphill near the 3700 block of Flora Avenue.
Fire crews were being aided by calm winds. No structures were threatened, the Fire Department said.
[Updated 11:02 p.m.: The air attack has beaten back the flames and full containment was expected, the Fire Department said.]
