Appeals court affirms Schwarzenegger pay cut order

A state appeals court has ruled that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger can legally cut the salaries of state workers to minimum wage amid the budget impasse.

Friday’s ruling comes a day after the governor ordered salaries reduced but the state controller, who writes the paychecks, refused, citing the ongoing litigation. Shane Goldmacher has the details at PolitiCal.

Ahhhnold, don't be back

Chiang needs to be fired and the court should hold in contempt. While I doubt one would get much argument the rest of the legislature as well as the Governor ought to be in he same cell, Chiang's actions are in direct violation of a court order. He needs to go!!

I do feel sorry for all those people that have to take a pay cut. I wish the best for them. But I have been laid-off for almost a year now. I have been look for some kind of job-part time or full-time. Day or night. But you have a job. I would take your place any day just to be working.

are the congressmen and governor of california themselves taking a paycut as well?? if not all citizens of california should be outraged

Minimum wage? They are still overpaid.
