$50,000 reward offered in arson death of Valley Village woman

July 29, 2010 |  7:55 am

Burningwoman Los Angeles officials are scheduled to announce a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the killing of a woman found dead in a burning Valley Village home.

Councilman Paul Krekorian and the Los Angeles Police Department will make the announcement at 11 a.m. at the North Hollywood station.

Police are looking for a suspect who fled the home in the 11500 block of Riverside Drive, where firefighters found the body Saturday night of Chere Osmanhodzic, 34.

The victim's fiance, Adam Culvey, said he returned home from a trip to the store to find a man inside. Culvey chased him for several blocks before returning to find the house on fire.

Police believe the man assaulted Osmanhodzic and started the fire to cover up the killing. He is described as a stocky Latino about 5 feet 8, who wore black shorts, a blue shirt and a black baseball cap turned backward.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Hollywood homicide detectives at (818) 623-4075.
