3.3 magnitude earthquake in Borrego Springs

A 3.3 magnitude temblor struck outside Palm Springs late Sunday night.

The epicenter of the mild earthquake was 14 miles north of Borrego Springs, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake occurred at 10:50 p.m. and was followed by several small aftershocks.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

5.4 magnitude earthquake struck in the same area Wednesday. The earlier earthquake did not cause any major damage.

Both occurred along the San Jacinto fault zone.
