Sewage spill closes part of south Orange County beach

A sewage spill has closed part of south Orange County's Aliso Creek Beach to swimming, surfing and diving, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

About 300 feet up the coast and 300 feet down the coast of Aliso Creek Beach will be closed until further notice because of the potential health hazards, the agency announced Friday.

The agency also warned of bacteria levels exceeding health standards in the following areas:

--Huntington State Beach: 500 feet up the coast from Newland Street to 500 feet down the coast from Magnolia Street.

--Doheny State Beach: from the Dana Point Harbor breakwater to 500 feet down the coast from the breakwater.

--Poche Beach: 150 feet up the coast and 150 feet down the coast from Poche Creek in San Clemente.
