Santa Ana teen shot dead by two attackers on bikes

June 22, 2010 |  8:24 pm

A Santa Ana teenager walking near his home was shot dead Tuesday evening by two attackers on bicycles, police said.

The 17-year-old boy was in the 300 block of South Sullivan Street when he was confronted by two male juveniles who opened fire and fled on their bikes, the Santa Ana Police Department said.

"The suspects appear to be gang members,"  said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, citing information gathered from witnesses.

The two attackers rode into a nearby mobile home park. Police searched the area but did not find the pair, Bertagna said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 245-8400.
