Lindsay Lohan violated court order, judge issues new arrest warrant [Updated]

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8341c630a53ef01310f2bac79970c-300wiA Beverly Hills judge Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for actress Lindsay Lohan and ordered her to post $200,000 bail to avoid detention because she violated a court order that directed her to not consume alcohol and to wear an alcohol-detection device.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel made the announcement after a hastily-called session in her chambers with the prosecutor and Lohan’s attorney Tuesday afternoon.

The hearing was called after the alcohol detection device on her ankle sent a report indicating the presence of alcohol  late Sunday after the MTV Movie Awards.

The judge in court, however, did not specify how Lohan violated the court order given May 24.

Revel doubled Lohan’s bail from $100,000 to $200,000 pending a July 6 hearing on whether she violated the terms of her probation in a 2007 driving under the influence arrest. [Updated, 5:15 p.m.: A bail bondsman said he posted the $200,000 on behalf of Lohan.]

Lohan is expected to surrender to authorities Wednesday and be released on bail.

The ankle monitor issues an alert when it is tampered with or when the person wearing it drinks alcohol.

Reminds me of Neil Young's song "Stupid Girl"

Why...they'll just rescind it before its served...like last time...

At the most, she see 3 days in jail...because it's one big joke when these so called celebrities are involved...GREATTTTTTT.

She really don't give a damn what happens, surly she needs some help. Because she is going to get thrown in jail and be made an example to the rest of those bratty celebs. Your not above the law Lindsay

3 days is if not scary, a pain in the ass. She lost a job to this or soemthing. Move on.

lindsey should smoke pot,,thats it..

Anyone have an estimate of what this celebrity felon's antics are costing taxpayers, and how many resources are being wasted keeping track of her? Any other "regular" person would not get this white glove treatment. Waiting for a level-headed judge to administer some actual justice, but not holding my breath.

This chick is wacked !! Good job Mom and Dad on raising your little girl. LOL !!

I regret for you.............

Arrogent is the word that comes to mind. Stupid is the other. How much money does she have to pay to get out of this and not learn her leson? She's well on the road to destruction like all the other stars before her.

Most people could care less about Lindsay Lohan and all other obnoxious law breaking celebrities. Why doesn't the Times, TMZ, Extra, Access Hollywood, and all other media outlets talk about people who contribute something valuable to our society. We have way too many young men and women in our military who our dying for our county, yet very little is ever mentioned about them. We also have Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Educators, Doctors, and many other hard working dedicated people who work extremely hard to make this wonderful United States a great place to live, yet we hear very little about these truly good people. It's very sad that our society pays so much attention to an actor; there are very few, if any, who have truly contributed to the good of our society.

This woman is an addict and belongs off our streets. She needs intensive treatment at a very good Recovery and Treatment facility.

what a disgrace of justice..Only in America.
