LAPD arrests at least 9 outside Staples Center after Lakers win

The Los Angeles Police Department declared an unlawful assembly at 11th and Figueroa streets near Staples Center minutes after the Lakers beat the Celtics.

At least nine people have been arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public and inciting a riot.

Boisterous crowds are gathering on several street corners as officers in riot gear and on horseback are patrolling the area.

Police officials said declaring an unlawful assembly legally allows officers to begin arresting people.

I say, great! It's unfortunate that a few morons need to jump on cars or break windows in order to celebrate; all the while being broadcast to the world so that everyone gets a negative image of L.A. So if celebrating remains peaceful at the cost of a few drunks going to jail- right on!

Where's ICE when you need 'em?

The fines should be as highest as possible, and time in jail. The world gets to see LA at one of its worst moment thanks to see morons,

It's a shame people use a celebration as an excuse to be idiots.

Wouldn’t be caught dead in L. A, and you could be. Would no longer spend a dime there and haven’t for at least 10 years. Hijacked: might as well be Harlem, Africa or a Mexican boarder town, a town in South America or a truly undesirable Asian area catering to the needs of the perverse. What a wasted complete third world representation of a city the worst of the worst represented by the most corrupt and self serving of every race, and religion. Represented by tonight’s third world response to a sad to say victory.

Typical Lakers' fans.
