John Wooden, Kenny Washington, and members of UCLA's first two national championship teams reunited at Pauley Pavilion.

Legendary UCLA Coach John Wooden was listed in grave condition Thursday, school sources have told The Times' Chris Foster.

Wooden, 99, was being treated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, according to the sources, who are not authorized to speak publicly. A UCLA athletic department official declined to comment on the situation.

Grave condition??? The guy is 99 years old. Grave is definitely the next stop. L.A. Times article quote: "A UCLA athletic department official declined to comment on the situation." You would think this article is about a 15 year-old. Cripes. R.I.P. in advance Mr. Wooden. Nice job living for 99 years. Congrats!

Growing up in Indiana, I came to idolize John Wooden. Even though he left us for California, we respected his skills as a coach and his integrity. Prayers and warm wishes are sent his way.

Wooden hardly ever said he coached; he said he taught at UCLA. A little reminder what a noble profession teaching can be, especially when it's a fine man and role model like John Wooden. When he finally takes his leave of us, that is one thing I'll remember.

I can remember John as a student at UCLA back in the late '60's. He was certainly an inspiration for the Bruins and has remained a "legendary" figure as this article points out.
