Pedestrian killed in hit and run in South L.A.

Police on Sunday were looking for a motorist who struck and killed a 39-year-old man in South Los Angeles.

Tyrone L. Jones of Los Angeles was walking on Broadway near 92nd Street at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, when he was struck by a green Chevrolet Lumina, said Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver did not stop, Joseph said.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, Joseph said. Police found the vehicle, but are still seeking the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sandra Smith at (323) 290-6063.
