Movie theater monopoly on Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade

AMC monopoly: The Santa Monica Daily Press reports that AMC operates all the theaters on the Third Street Promenade:

All three movie theaters on the Third Street Promenade now have a single operator, since AMC Entertainment on Friday acquired the lease of the theater formerly known as the Mann Criterion 6, located near Arizona Avenue.

Mickey Mouse vandalized: A Mickey Mouse statue wearing Boston Red Sox gear outside the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana was vandalized, according to the Orange County Register:

It appeared that someone had taken whacks with something at one of Mickey's arms. … The Red Sox, of course, are rivals of the Angels.

San Bernardino aims to control pit bull population: The San Bernardino Sun reports that all pit bull owners in San Bernardino will have to get their dogs spayed or neutered:

Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt authored the ordinance, which he said aims to cut down on the number of pit bulls in county animal shelters and on the number of pit-bull attacks.
