Two quakes rattle California border

Two modest earthquake struck the California border Thursday afternoon.

A 4.3 quake occurred at 2:28 p.m. about 33 miles southeast of Calexico in Imperial County. A 4.5 quake was reported a few minutes later.

It was one of hundreds of aftershocks from the 7.2 earthquake that struck nearby Mexicali two months ago.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

The 7.2 temblor caused more than $90-million damage in California. Two people died in Mexico.
