Tracy man arrested after allegedly stabbing father to death

A Northern California man was arrested Saturday after police said he stabbed his father to death in front of their family.

Mitchell Barron, 22, allegedly stabbed his father after the two argued at the end of a day of work at their cleaning business in Tracy. The stabbing occurred after they drove to Mitchell Barron’s home. His sister and mother were in the car at the time, Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman said.

Mitchell Barron’s sister called police and his mother drove her husband, Jose Barron, 42, to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mitchell Barron was arrested several hours later in Hayward.

The fatal stabbing was Tracy's first homicide of the year.
