Man in his 80s arrested for allegedly killing woman in Jefferson Park

A man in his 80s has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a woman in Jefferson Park.

The shooting occurred Sunday evening in the front yard of a home on 11th Avenue, said LAPD Lt. Darrell Belthius.

The alleged shooter is in custody, police said. The identities of the victim, who was in her 40s, and the alleged shooter have not been released.

Police said Monday they were investigating the relationship, if any, between the two.
