Man questioned in deaths of his wife and daughter, 5 [Updated]

Los Angeles police Friday were questioning a Canoga Park man in connection the fatal stabbing of his wife and young daughter, sources familiar with the investigation said.

The bodies were discovered after Los Angeles city firefighters received a report of a stabbing about 1:15 p.m. at a house in the 6900 block of Remmet Avenue.

LAPD Officer Gregory Baek said the mother, who is in her 30s, and her 5-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.

"Each had knife wounds," Baek said.

Details were still sketchy but sources familiar with the case said the victims had been stabbed multiple times. Detectives were interviewing the husband, who was not immediately identified, in connection with the attacks.

[Updated at 7:41 p.m.: Police said Friday night that after interviewing the husband, the case remains wide open. No suspect or motive has been determined so far in the killings.]
