Authorities look for sex offender in Lancaster
Sheriff's Department officials in Lancaster were seeking the public's help Wednesday in locating a registered sex offender who discarded his court-ordered GPS monitoring device but is still believed to be in the area.
Daren Marvin Olsen left his assigned area in the 42400 block of Sierra Highway and is believed to be roaming the streets of Lancaster, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The department described Olsen as a drug user who likes to play the piano and has been known to frequent music stores in the area.
Olsen is 6 feet tall, weighs 160 pounds and has long brown hair and brown eyes. He sometimes wears a hat.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lancaster sheriff's station at (661) 948-8466.
