San Diego Charger Kevin Ellison arrested on suspicion of possessing Vicodin [Updated]

San Diego Chargers safety Kevin Ellison was arrested in Redondo Beach on Monday afternoon on suspicion of possessing 100 tablets of Vicodin, police said.

Kevin Ellison Ellison, 23, was speeding in a school zone and was pulled over in a routine stop, the Redondo Beach Police Department said.

Officers searching his vehicle discovered the tablets, Sgt. Peter Grimm said.

Ellison was released from jail Monday evening after posting $10,000 bail. He is scheduled for a court appearance in Torrance on July 7, Grimm said.

[Updated 9:46 p.m.: "We're trying to get to the bottom of what happened," said Jerome Stanley, one of Ellison's agents. "We're not sure yet. We'll know more [Tuesday] morning."]

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Ellison played football at USC and Redondo Union High School. He lives in the South Bay, Grimm said.

Ellison's brother Keith Ellison played linebacker last year for the Buffalo Bills.

so what

What was the probable cause? Did the police suspect the driver was under the influence?

I didnt realize it was a felony to posess vicodin. I have vicodin!! Sheesh.

Next time leave your 'V' at home. He deserves a legal slap down. His brother is Chris Ellison who self-annointed himself 'entertainment lawyer'. Chris is a instructor at West Los Angeles College and was the worst paralegal teacher.

The problem is that we are a city where little to none of our police force actually grew up in Redondo Beach area of the Great South Bay. Therefore, they have little dedication and loyalty to the few stars that emerge from our great city. I'm not saying what he did was right nor am I tying to justify his actions. I am just saying that if our local police force had actually grown up and gone to schools in Redondo Beach they would grant special privelige to our local community heroes! God bless the RBPD.....yeah right!
