Former rap magnate Marion 'Suge' Knight held by L.A. police for allegedly brandishing weapon [Updated]
Former rap music magnate Marion “Suge” Knight was being detained Thursday by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery and Homicide Division for allegedly brandishing a weapon, authorities said.
Knight, 45, was behind the wheel of a white Cadillac Escalade when he was pulled over at 12:30 a.m. in Gardena. Officials at the Southwest Division station said Knight was brought to the station around 12.40 a.m., but had since been transported downtown.
Details were sketchy, but officials said Knight had brandished a weapon at a man Wednesday night in South Los Angeles. Investigators said they were looking for Knight after the man accused him of robbery.
[Updated at 8:32 a.m.: Police say he was arrested at 147th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard in Gardena, but that the alleged altercation took place in Los Angeles. He was also booked for allegedly driving with a suspended license. He has been released on bail.]

Why isn't this thug in prison already?

How exactly do you become a "rap mogul" anyway? It's not like this guy has a "talent" - like rhyming into a microphone is any kind of talent. Oh, I see - you lead a "posse" of rappers in some kind of "business" sense. Wow, that guy is amazing - I wish I had those kind of mad skills.

LAPD is getting more creative & the LA TImes has never covered a black man "robbing" another black man in Gardena. Ever. We know they could care less. I wonder if Knight's status peeked the interest of the traffic stop. The alleged "victim" actually called police? Hmmm...that's not likely in the 'hood, especially when they know each other. This is classic fram work by LAPD.

Damn this guy was in my hood. Thanks Gardena for picking this thug up. Hopefully they'll lock him away like OJ!

It sounds like he was arrested and booked for the offences...not just detained...

..i thought he was in prison on a weapons charge. He's a "celebrity", so he'll beat this, just like he's bought..ahem..i mean, beat the other charges in the past..

He should be jailed for being such a negative stereotype - rap, brandishing a weapon, Cadillac Escalade!
