Body of man believed to be in his 40s found in Santa Ana alley

The body of a man believed to be in his 40s was found Sunday morning in a Santa Ana alley, authorities said.

Santa Ana police received a report at 6:50 a.m. of a man down in the 1100 block of South Standard Avenue, Commander Steve Colon said. Officers found the man unconscious, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

"He had obvious trauma to his body," Colon said. "At this point they haven't been able to determine the cause. We're not ruling out a shooting or stabbing."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Santa Ana homicide detectives at (714) 245-8390.
