Authorities seek suspects in hit-and-run near Rosewood

May 16, 2010 |  1:31 pm

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects of a hit-and-run that killed a 33-year-old man in an unincorporated area near Rosewood.

Eugene Jackson of Hawthorne was traveling east on 135th Street in a 2009 Nissan Altima on Saturday about 1:30 a.m. when he was struck by a  2004 Dodge Durango running a red light at the intersection of South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles Police Officer Cleon Joseph said.

Two men and one woman were seen exiting the silver sport utility vehicle and fleeing on foot, Joseph said. The car was left at the intersection; an L.A. police officer Sunday did not have information on the identity of the car’s owner. Witnesses described the suspects as Latino.

Jackson was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call detectives at (323) 290-6064 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
