Woman's body found dumped in Hyde Park alley

A woman’s body, wrapped in a sleeping bag, was found dumped Thursday morning in an alleyway in Hyde Park, Los Angeles police said.

Police received a call at about 3:30 a.m. from a man who said he had found a body in an alley near Crenshaw Boulevard and 73rd Street, said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the LAPD. The body was wrapped in blankets and a sleeping bag, authorities said.

The victim is described as a woman between the ages of 22 and 25. Police have not released her identity and gave no information on possible suspects in the case.

LAPD Capt. Dennis Kato told KTLA it appeared the woman had been shot at a different location and then dumped in the alley. A police investigation is underway, Borihanh said.
