Tearful Tito Ortiz denies beating Jenna Jameson, is released from jail [Updated]
Mixed martial arts star Tito Ortiz denied beating porn actress Jenna Jameson at their Huntington Beach home, part of a war of words between the two following his arrest Monday for alleged domestic violence.
At a news conference late Monday with his attorney, Ortiz claimed that the altercation occurred when he confronted Jameson about her alleged drug use.
"My parents have gone through an addiction and I've seen it in a mirror again,'' Ortiz said at the press conference, fighting back tears. "I'm not going to let my family go through that.''Ortiz was released from Huntington Beach jail Monday evening.
[Updated at 6:57 a.m.: Jameson has denied Ortiz's allegations regarding drug use.]
She told various reporters Monday that she was injured by Ortiz during a fight. Jameson told reporters that Ortiz "lashed out" at her and that she was shocked by what happened.
On Twitter, she added: "I cant take any more abuse from ANYONE.. To my sweet fans...thank you."
Huntington Beach police Lt. Mike Reynolds told The Times officers responded to report of domestic violence in 16700 block of Baruna Lane shortly before 10 a.m. Monday.
Police would not comment on the injuries the victim suffered or confirm that Jamison was the victim, but Reynolds said Ortiz was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence based on evidence at the scene.
Reynolds said all parties involved in the incident have been fully cooperating with investigators. "There has been no reluctance to talk to us," he said.
