If this man was shot in Pomona, why was he taken to a County-USC Medical Center 40 miles away? No wonder he died. How ridiculous is that?

Helen, the reason he was taken to County-USC is because they are a trauma center hospital. People that sustain certain injuries to certain parts of the body are required by paramedics to be taken to such facilities. For example, a gunshot wound to the torso can not be taken to any hospital. These policies are set forth by the Department of Health Services and must be adhered to by paramedics.

& also Helen... people who sustain such injuries are not "driven" there (40 miles away) they are mostly flown there by helecopter!!! Where are you from that you don't know what??? Just curious!!!
