Michael Jackson's heart beat briefly at hospital, father's attorney says

Michael Jackson's heart beat briefly when he was taken from his rented Holmby Hills mansion to UCLA Medical Center, according to an attorney for the pop star's father, Joe Jackson.

In an interview with CNN, attorney Brian Oxman claims that Jackson might have been saved had paramedics and doctors gotten to him sooner.

"The bottom line is, had [paramedics] gotten there earlier and had they been called right away, chances are he could have been revived," Oxman told CNN.

It's unclear how Joe Jackson's camp obtained the information about Michael Jackson's heart or whether earlier medical intervention would have saved him.

The entertainer had high levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol in his system when he died, according to the L.A. County coroner's office.

Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Jackson's death. He has pleaded not guilty and maintains that he did nothing wrong.

Murray told investigators that Jackson, 50, was a chronic insomniac who had depended for years on propofol -- a white liquid that the singer called "milk" -- to sleep, according to police affidavits filed in court.

But an anesthesiologist consulted by the coroner's office wrote in the report that she knew of "no reports of its use for insomnia relief."

No, the bottom line is that if Michael Jackson had not hired a doctor to administer Propofol as a sleep aid, he would be alive today.

Who cares? He's dead. Its over. Get on with some real news.

sad RIP MJ

Yes, The bottom line is, had [paramedics] gotten there earlier and had they been called right away, chances are he could have been revived," Oxman told CNN.

Stop impersonating yourself as a Michael Jackson Fan, you are no more a Michael Jackson Fan than Murray is a Doctor.

Michael Jackson could hire any Doctor he wanted to and request any medications he wanted to, bottom line is a Doctor by LAW cannot give him any medication he wanted to, it's called being UNETHICAL.

if he had been addicted to Propofol like they say the amount he had would have had no effect on him but, chances are if he was brought back he may have been in a vegetative state

Ethics and the law are not the same thing.
It was not illegal for a licensed physician to give Michael Jackson Propofol.

Who cares!!! Enough!

Does it matter now??

none of us know if he honestly hired murray to administer propofol or not.... none of us know anything really, so lets all shut up, and quit pretending we know what really happened... All I know is that Michael Jackson appeared to be a nice, giving person with an amazing talent.... I dont want this kind of speculation surrounding my death.

RIP- MJ

I miss him! He was the best in my eyes! Why couldn't live longer till i was 18 years old! :(

He may have had a rhythm, but I'm betting it was idioventricular, which is essentially the rhythm of a dying heart. It's mostly electrical activity and ineffective pumping. That's why the ER docs tried the ventricular assist device ...

Had someone been able to say no to the all powerful Michael Jackson, this would not have happened. Money will buy you pretty much whatever you want, even a nightly does of propofol, if you find a physician financially desperate enough to do it.

Involuntary manslaughter at best. Stupid to file wrongful death because MJ chose to ask for what he got. It was a matter of time ...

Seeing how Conrad Murray dilly-dallied about for three hours instructing his nursing staff and others in Texas to get rid of incriminating evidence BEFORE calling paramedics- it's plausible that those hours could have best been used in trying to save Michael Jackson's life.

How Murray has managed to only be charged with involuntary manslaughter is a mystery save that the D.A.'s office has a miserable track record in prosecuting celebrity relating homicides.

In truth, celebrities will always demand and receive their drugs of choice from unethical and starstruck physicians and these drugs will continue kill those who demand them. It just seems to be part of the Hollywood way of life. At some point the family and adoring fans will just have to move on.
