Two LAPD officers slightly injured in South L.A. squad car crash

Lapdcrash
Two LAPD officers were slightly injured early Monday when their squad car collided with another vehicle in South L.A., authorities said.

The officers suffered “minor abrasions” but were taken to a hospital for observation after complaining of pain, said Officer Sara Faden, an LAPD spokeswoman.

The crash occurred about 7:10 a.m. near the corner of Seventh Avenue and Exposition Boulevard, in Leimert Park. Television images indicated the squad car went through a fence and came to rest near a railroad right of way.

Police were investigating the cause of the incident.

if they went through a fence, how are the people in the other vehicle? there was no mention of them

"near a railroad right of way" Is this not infact the Expo Light Rail Line under construction? I could not beleive that the KTLA and the Times did not report that fact.

From what I saw on the news, the officers were driving "code 3" with emergency lights and siren activated when the accident happened.

What happened to the passengers of the other vehicle? It was not mentioned whether they were hurt in the incident. If the investigation reveals that the negligence of one party resulted to the collision, the other party may be compensated for physical and property damages after filing a claim.

The other people were not reported on because they were not important. LAPD officers are the only imprortant ones as always. Leimert Park is not in South LA, and it is been on the West Side for years. The Times need to get their facts Right.

If Rick is right this happens every day. People do not stop for sirens anymore. People think it is not important to stop just like making a turn in the middle of the street. The city will have to go to court for these people being STUPID.
