Two dead in Rosemead murder-suicide

Two people were killed early this morning in Rosemead in a shooting authorities believe was a murder-suicide.

The shooting happened just after midnight in the 2600 block of Earle Avenue, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Aura Sierra. A woman was found dead at the scene and a man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Sierra said.

The two had previously been dating, she said. A gun was recovered at the scene but it was not immediately clear who had shot whom.

“I can tell you it’s been deemed a murder-suicide,” Sierra said.

The identities of the victims were being withheld until their families were notified.
