Director of J. Paul Getty Museum to step down

The director of the J. Paul Getty Museum said today that he would step down at the end of the month. He gave no reason for his departure.

Michael Brand, who turns 52 on Saturday, began his tenure in December 2005 with a five-year contract.

In an interview with the Culture Monster blog, he said the choice to resign was "my decision," but declined to be more specific.

"I really don't want to get behind the reasons of my resignation," he said.
