Tiger Woods media circus comes to L.A. [Updated]

The Tiger Woods media circus is expected to converge at Gloria Allred's Wilshire Boulevard office this morning, where the celebrity attorney will make a statement on behalf of a woman whom the tabloids have linked to the golf star.
[Updated at 8:15 a.m.: The news conference has been canceled, Allred said, giving no reason for the abrupt move.]
Alllred's office says Rachel Uchitel will attending the 11:30 a.m. news conference but not speak.
Allred, of course, is no stranger to such tabloid fodder. Last year, she made headlines for her efforts to help octuplets mother Nadya Suleman get child care for her children. Later, Allred expressed public concerns about the children's welfare, which led to a legal battle with Suleman.
Allred boasts on her website, "With the other attorneys of her firm, Gloria has been involved in some of the most defining cases of our day, including O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson and Robert Blake, as well as one of the earliest sexual abuse suits against the Catholic Church. At the same time, she has also played a role in many groundbreaking legal decisions that have forever changed our lives for the better."
The Woods controversy stemmed from an early-morning car accident outside his Florida home.
More details about the various allegations involving Woods and reader reaction can be found at The Times' sports blog.

Gloria Allred is an attention hound. She makes me sick.

Mr. Woods' situation is a private matter for he and his wife to work out. Now, if Allred's client wants to cash in and be labeled an opportunist or less so be it.
