Suspect arrested in Silver Lake bank robbery

A suspect who allegedly robbed a Silver Lake bank this evening was arrested after a teller alerted police by pressing a "panic button," authorities said.Bank Robbery Scene

The man passed the teller a note, demanding money at a Bank of America branch at 2420 Glendale Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The crime was reported at 5:41 p.m.

Officers were waiting for the suspect when he exited the bank.

"It was pretty quick action," said LAPD Officer Bruce Borihanh.

It was unclear how much money the suspect got. The department's Robbery Homicide unit is handling the investigation.
