Man found dead in Eagle Rock house fire

Fire A man was found dead after a fire was extinguished this morning in an Eagle Rock home just north of Occidental College, authorities said.

The one-story, single-family home in the 4800 block of North Maywood Avenue was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 6:23 a.m., said Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

A search-and-rescue crew found the man's body in the smoldering home. He has not yet been identified.
