LAPD seeks motive for shooting outside hospital

December 17, 2009 |  7:03 am

(KTLA-TV)

The Los Angeles Police Department this morning is looking for two gunmen who opened fire outside Valley Presbyterian Hospital last night in an attack.

Authorities are investigating whether the two were gang members.

The gunfire did not hit anyone, but one man was hurt when he jumped to the ground.

The incident occurred when two men fired six or seven rounds at a third man in a parking lot. The suspects and the intended victim then fled the scene.

Police have set up a perimeter and are searching the area. There is no known motive for the shooting, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the LAPD at (818) 374-9500.
