Residents smell foul odor in San Fernando Valley

Several residents in the north San Fernando Valley sniffed a strange odor in the air this morning and called 911 to report it, authorities said.

"They didn't describe what it smelled like, fortunately," said Rich Matheney, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Matheney said firefighters determined the odor was not dangerous and no evacuations were necessary. He said Southern California Gas Co. was on scene trying to determine the cause of the odor.

This is kinda funny to me. Maybe everyone just had post-Thanksgiving gas.

That's what neighbors say when dead bodies are rotting in the neighbor.

"Fortunately?"
