Father and son arrrested after brawling in front of toddler

December 29, 2009 |  7:45 pm

A father and son were arrested at their home in Cypress Park on Tuesday evening after police found the two in a bloody fight in front of a 3-year-old child, authorities said.

The men, who had both been drinking, were arrested for child endangerment, police said. Los Angeles Police Sgt. Wayne Guillary said social workers would ensure the child would have a safe place to stay.

The father and son, whose names and ages have not been released, were found with bloodied hands and clothes. Neither would tell police what caused the fight in a residential neighborhood on the 1900 block of Kemper Street.

“Just a father and son engaged in mutual combat, fighting it out,” Guillary said. “They injured each other’s hands pretty bad.”

Police said they weren’t sure if weapons were used.
