3.7 earthquake hits Death Valley area [Updated]

A 3.7 earthquake hit the Death Valley area this morning, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.

The quake occurred about 3:44 a.m. near the town of Trona.

Me-tronaQuake30 Last week, a 3.9 earthquake hit the Imperial County desert area and was felt in parts of the Inland Empire and San Diego County. That quake occurred near Ocotillo and about 24 miles from El Centro. No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was felt in Imperial, Brawley, El Centro, and Valley Center as well as farther away including in San Clemente and Big Bear.
