Actress Brittany Murphy dead at 32
Actress Brittany Murphy died early today after going into cardiac arrest, law enforcement sources said. Los Angeles city firefighters responded to "a medical request" at Murphy's home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road in West Hollywood. Murphy, 32, was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Murphy starred in films including "Clueless," "8 Mile" and "Don't Say a Word."

Hmmm... Heart Attack at 32?
Young Hollywood... not to say it, but you know plenty are thinking it... drugs...
Sad. Thought the girl had spunk.
r.i.p. Miss Murphy...

I am saddened by the news of Brittany's death. I'm a fan and always admired her progression from "Clueless" to her life today. I remember when she was the very beautiful very innocent, slightly pleasantly plumb star in the movie Clueless, and curiously watched as she blossomed into superstardom. I will miss her vision of loveliness. Gone too soon! Brittany, r.i.p.

Now that her life's work as Luanne Platter is over she gets to join propane-exploded Buckley in that big Mega Lo Mart in the sky.

Unless she had a history of heart problems, sounds like the old Hollywood story. Too bad, this comes as such a shock today, I'm still stunned. She was a good actress when she could find the right part.
RIP Brittany . . .

There must be something important going on...people, of course, will gravitate to this story just like they did the Michael Jackson murder/death...and people won't find out what Obama just did in Copenhagen...not that they care about "stupid political things like that" anyway.

Se seemed anorexic that last few years. I wonder if the strain that put on her heart is what caused it to fail.

This seems like another case of live fast, die young.
And, sadly, it won't be the last. Hollywood/L.A. is littered with these type of stories. It's sad every time it happens, but it's also hard not to think about how the Hollywood/L.A. lifestyle feed this, and to think, "Tsk, tsk."
If River Phoenix hadn't collapsed of an overdose in front of the Viper nightclub in L.A., Johnny Depp might have been another name to add to the "live fast, die young" list.

Some of the people posting on here are sickos. This young woman died. Her poor mother found her dead in the shower. That is very tragic. Do we have to assume it was drugs or anorexia? And, who really cares? No one said it was any more sad because she was famous. Get a life!

People are saying she had anorexia nervosa & bulimia; she's never been fat - how can that be?

This is so devastating, especially right before Christmas. My heart goes out to her family and friends. We as the community have lost a great actress. And to the rest of the community out there, I am appalled by some of the comments I have read on here. No, it doesn't make it any more sad than a non-famous person dying. It just affects more people because she was famous. And for those of you who hinted at drugs, it may well be. But that doesn't mean we love her any less. There are lots of people, famous and non-famous that have died from drugs. But they were part of someone's family, and some of them did great things before they died. Jimmy Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Chris Farley, Heath Ledger. They were all famous. They all died from drug overdoses. That doesn't mean we don't enjoy their talents any less. It's Christmastime people. Have some frickin compassion and respect. And it doesn't really matter what time of year it is. You still need to have compassion and respect.
