Police say DNA evidence links suspect to 1997 North Hollywood murders

November 4, 2009 | 11:06 pm

Los Angeles police said today they have identified -- through DNA evidence -- a suspect in the 1997 murder of a mother and her mentally impaired son in North Hollywood.

Details are scheduled to be released at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division Station.

The newly analyzed evidence links the suspect to the stabbing deaths of Nancy Boehm, 57, and her son, Shawn Boehm, 23, according to police. The victims were found in their home by a family friend.

Both had multiple stab wounds and were found in separate bedrooms of the home in the 5700 block of Riverton Avenue, where they had lived for 20 years.
