November 6, 2009 |  8:59 am

Los Angeles police have arrested one suspect and are still searching for others after gunfire struck a police vehicle Thursday night in the North Hills area of the San Fernando Valley.

The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of Cedros Avenue near Parthenia Street, LAPD spokesman Richard French said.

Officers were in the area investigating a vehicle theft when they heard gunfire and saw that their vehicle had been struck, he said. No officers were injured.

A suspect was taken into custody at about 4:15 this morning, and police remain at the scene.
