Police search for North Hollywood gunman who killed acquaintance
Los Angeles police this morning are searching for a man who shot and killed an acquaintance in the parking lot of a Sears store in North Hollywood.
The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 6400 block of North Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Victory Boulevard. The victim was shot in the neck and was taken to a hospital where he later died, said Officer Norma Eisenmen of the LAPD.
Police determined that earlier in the evening two men in their 20s were involved in a dispute over the phone, Eisenmen said.
“Both parties agreed to meet to settle whatever their differences were,” Eisenmen said.
They met in the parking lot, where the altercation occurred. The suspect pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and shot the victim, Eisenmen said.
The suspect fled in a black four-door BMW 3-Series sedan with no plates, she said. Anyone with information is asked to call (877) 527-3247.
