Man shot outside Valley nightclub

November 13, 2009 |  7:55 am

A verbal dispute outside a restaurant and nightclub in Sherman Oaks early this morning turned into an altercation that left one person with a gunshot wound, police said.

The incident took place around 1:45 a.m. outside Smiles at 13615 Ventura Blvd., according to Det. Robert Bub of the Los Angeles Police Department.

“It was not inside the nightclub,” Bub said. “The best we know from witnesses is that it may have started down the street, having nothing to do with the nightclub.”

Bub said the male victim was taken to UCLA Medical Center. His condition was unknown.

Representatives of Smiles could not be reached for comment. On its website, the venue bills itself as a restaurant, bar and nightclub.

The investigation is ongoing, Bub said.

Let me guess...gang or drunk related...

What did this cost the taxpayers for the free medical services provided for the guy who was shot...Has he been paying Fed/State Taxes...my guess NO....

How can you stand being so ignorant. You must be perfect, right. Obviously, you have never been to one of these county hospitals people say its "free" but let me tell you something they do send you a bill. If you want i can email you a copy of the bill, and your tax paying check can pay it for me.
